I am so honored that Trina trusted me to do a sacred portrait session honoring her 40th birthday. Trina admitted to me that she has been feeling insecure lately, and that the thought of having her photo take was making her feel really uncomfortable. We spent a lot of time talking about her feelings, and what she wanted to feel when she looked at her images. She wanted to feel seen and understood, and she wanted to be able to see her own beauty in a new way. She wanted to be able to see and honor herself exactly where she is. Our session was pure magic! The trust that she placed in me inspired me to treat each moment with reverence and care. I always do this, but somehow it felt more tender this time because if what she shared with me before our portrait session. As our session progressed, I could see and feel Trina settling into the radiant light and beauty that the rest of us see all the time. She embodied her power and all of the facets of her beautiful self. I am so grateful for my work because I get to connect deeply with women who want to embody their power and beauty in new ways all the time. What a blessing! Thank you Trina for trusting me!
I had the true honor of spending my morning taking portraits of this radiant being! I have known Sami Mehra for years as she is one of my favorite yoga teachers of all time. She is a true peaceful warrior. She has brought me so much peace, solace and growth over those years on my "prayer mat" (as she calls our yoga mats). I am so honored that she wanted me to \ capture some portraits of her luminous self!
Erin has the BEST laugh you will ever hear, and a knack for bringing our the laughter and fun in any conversation. She is kind, sincere and extremely talented! I loved getting to spend some time with her during our session in Venice.
This is the second session I have done with Sheyla and her son. I always have the most wonderful time with them. Chasing a four year old and his elusive focus on my lens is always a fun challenge for me! I hope to do many more shoots with these guys in the future. Hopefully we can get dad to come along next time ;-)
I had the amazing fortune of meeting Gemma Marin recently. She instantly captivated me on so many levels. Her beauty, as you can see is undeniable, and the humility with which she balances that gift is awe-inspiring! She is an actor living in Los Angeles, but is originally from Spain. She is incredibly connected and sincere, and has a light about her that no one could forget. Suffice it to say, she has it ALL going on. Her latest gig was a wonderful commercial for Nespresso featuring Danny DeVito and George Clooney. Yes, she got to dance cheek to cheek with George and Danny! I think they should both count themselves lucky. I certainly count myself lucky to have met and connected with this beautiful soul! I look forward to collaborating with her in the future!
This session was a true collaboration with my amazingly talented friends, Gabriella Dorsen (hair) and her sister Bria Dorsen (makeup). Silvia Guijarro Parra was our consultant and transportation advisor :-). Working with these ladies not only makes everything fun but they are the consummate professionals making their expert work look effortless!!! I can't wait to do more sessions with them!
Olga was in Los Angeles on a visit from Spain. We had a great time capturing some portraits for her in Venice while she was here!
From time to time I love to go back and look at the portrait sessions I have done. This last year was mainly consumed by my sailing adventure, but I did manage to get a bunch of wonderful sessions in as well. I love my clients so much. It is great to see how they are all making their mark on the world! Here you'll see a writer/meditation teacher, a director/cameraman, a grad school student, a couple of actors, a professional musician, a hair stylist, a couple of realtors, a spiritual teacher, a craftsman and a jewelry designer/entrepreneur. It feels so great to be a part of these entrepreneurs' paths as they put themselves out into the world!
I feel so very blessed to have this woman in my daily life. We serendipitously met over a year ago, and since then she has become one of my dearest friends and soul sisters. Whether we are sailing to Catalina, hanging out having deep talks, cracking up over some silly shenanigan, she graces my life with more than I could ever put into words. She is an angel on this earth who exudes love and compassion out of every pore of her being. When she walks into a room, it lights up and you feel better for sharing any moment with her. She touches everyone she comes into contact with with her grace and beauty. When I count my blessings, I count her as one of the most treasured. I was so honored to be chosen to capture some images of her as she enters into her 30’s!!
