The Wyly Community Art Center is very close to my heart. I have the honor of teaching my art journaling workshops there a couple times a year, and this year I was asked to shoot their annual fundraiser. Over 100 local artists (including yours truly) donated 10 x 10 pieces of art to be auctioned off to raise money for The Wyly and its amazing community art programs. It was so fun to be a part of this festive evening! The theme was "pencil us in", hence all of the pencils in the decor. The staff and volunteers worked SO hard to create a beautiful ambiance full of creativity and fun!
I was invited to be a volunteer photographer in 2011 for the Marfa Film Festival. Iwas asked to capture some of the weekend's events as I experienced them. It was so much fun! I had never been to Marfa before, and it truly lived up to its quirky and artsy reputation! These were some of my favorite shots from the weekend. I thought I would post them just for fun since I found them while cleaning out my archives! I hope to get back there one day!
